Hot Stones Therapy

This unique therapy works in harmony with the body using massage techniques and both hot and cold stones. The Basalt volcanic stones are used to warm the clients’ muscles. This allows a much deeper working of the tissues than in conventional massage. Hot stones therapy can be incorporated into other treatments such as reflexology, aromatherapy, Indian head massage and even manicure, pedicure and facials.

Swedish Body Massage

Swedish body massage is the original massage technique involving a sequence of movements working superficially and deeper into the tissue layers. The term ‘Swedish massage’ is generally a term applied to a variety of techniques designed to relax muscles by applying pressure to them, rubbing in the same direction as the flow of blood returning to the heart. The main purpose of Swedish massage is to increase the oxygen flow in the blood and release toxins from the muscles. Massage helps flush the tissues of harmful deposits such as lactic acid, uric acid, and other metabolic wastes – improving recovery time from muscular strain.

Introduction to Sports Massage

Sports massage has become a widely accepted part of most modern athletes’ training programmes. Its purpose is to prepare the athlete for peak performance, eliminating fatigue, relieving swelling, reducing muscle tension and promoting flexibility. The course covers pre-event and post-event massage techniques, for use both before and after physical exertion. Students will learn to combine different forms of massage and give advice on stretching exercises for a wide range of clients from those exercising for pleasure to the professional sportsman.

Holistic Body Massage

Massage for the whole body through rhythmically applied pressure.  Gentle pulling and stroking movements increase the circulation of the blood, stimulate the nerves and aid the removal of toxins by the lymphatic system. Aromatherapy oils can be used to exert healing and beneficial influences, or just to make you feel great!

Seated Back Acupressure Half Day  (12.30pm – 3pm) £175

The technique is based on the techniques of Shiatsu and Anma, traditional Japanese bodywork systems. It incorporates over 60 specific stress release points on the head, neck, shoulders, arms and back, to leave the client relaxed and calm yet energised and alert. The sequence has been developed to produce the maximum beneficial results for the client in just 20 minutes. The massage sequence is carried out with clients in the sitting up position through their clothing and without the use of a massage medium such as oil or cream. It can be a sensitive way for the receiver to experience massage without the need to remove any, except heavy outer, clothing. The massage sequence activates all the pressure points of the posterior side of the upper body and is an ideal therapy that can be used in a number of locations.

Indian Head Massage

This special form of massage works on the energy chakras and is a wonderful way of relieving stress and its effects on the systems of the body. Tension floats away through relaxation of the muscles and improved circulation to the brain helps to clear the mind and improve hair and scalp condition. The massage can be applied without clients having to disrobe and the use of oils is optional although beneficial.

Chinese Facial Massage

Chinese Facial Massage is a unique and complementary blend of techniques drawn from other cultures. Using simple but very effective massage techniques involving meridians, acupressure points and lymphatic drainage Chinese Facial Massage provides a simple technique for keeping face muscles mobile, helping to slow down the aging process and reduce wrinkles.

Thai Foot Massage
